The Institute for Ceramics and Glass of the CSIC, will host the 10th and 11th October “The Workshop for Young Researchers in Cramics and Glasses with Medical Applications”, you-CGMed. This is a proposal of the Spanish Ceramic and Glass Society.
The main objective with which these conferences have been organized is to bring together all the young researchers who are carrying out their research in ceramics and glasses with medical applications to promote the exchange of ideas and the creation of new international networks between them.
During the celebration of the Conference, three Plenary sessions will be given by: Helen Reveron-Cabotte, researcher responsible for the group of Ceramic Materials and Composites of the CNRS in Lyon; Julian Jones, Professor at the Imperial College of London and Maria Pau Ginebra, Professor of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Director of the Division of Biomaterials of the Research Center in Biomedical Engineering of the UPC.
To facilitate participation in the Conference, 10 travel grants will be offered for students from national institutions and 20 for students from international institutions, in both cases students have to be associated to the Spanish Ceramic and Glass Society or the European Ceramic.
