As guest editors, we are very pleased to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue of Polymers (Impact Factor 3.426) on the topic of “Polymer/Ceramic Composites” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/polymers/special_issues/Polymer_Ceramics_Composites).
In light of your remarkable contributions to this field, we would like to invite you to submit a paper for inclusion in this issue highlighting the importance of the incorporation of inorganic phases in continuous polymeric matrices in order to provide new functionalities.
Some examples are improvement of mechanical properties of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers, bactericidal compounds that incorporate photocatalytic nanoparticles or bioactive and biodegradable compounds with dispersed bioglasses or bioceramics.
This Special Issue will cover innovations in a wide number of applications makes exploring new compositions incorporating dispersed ceramic and/or metal–ceramic phases challenging, as well providing manufacturing processes which can overpass the intrinsic property mismatch of such different materials.
Please let us know whether or not you accept this invitation by replying to this email (preferably before early-october). In your reply, please inform us what type of manuscript you would like to contribute (Communication, Concept, Full Paper, Highlight, Minireview, or Review) and include a tentative title. The deadline for manuscript submission is December 21, 2020.
